Oscar ceremony Hollywood ...... .The Oscar goes to?

The Dolby Theater the venue of the Oscar Hollywood Awards!

Every year, when we are in Los Angeles, we like to make a trip to the Walk of Fame and mingle with the tourists. In front of the Dolby Theater, where the annual Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, takes place, there are always a lot of curious people on the way. A visit to where the Oscars are awarded is simply part of the sightseeing program. If you want, you can also take part in a tour of the theater, which takes about half an hour.

The Dolby Theater Hollywood also hosts other events, such as movie premieres, musicals, and sometimes the Emmy Awards and concerts. Well-known artists such as Prince, Mariah Carey and Celine Dion already had big performances there.

In the entrance area you can walk along the path that has been laid out for the red carpet Oscars. Everything looks much bigger than it really is in television broadcasting at home.

The Dolby Theater and adjacent to the Hollywood and Highland Center, an open-air shopping mall and entertainment complex has plenty of shopping and dining shops to enjoy. Victoria's Secret, Skechers, Guess and Fossil are just a few examples of stores, but the stores are not cheap.

Everything is quite impressive and generously designed with water fountains and seating from where you can watch the hustle and bustle. Worth seeing are the two giant elephant statues. From the terraces of the upper floors you have a very good view of the mountains and the Hollywood sign.

The Academy Awards ceremony, better known to us as the Academy Awards, takes place every year. This coveted movie price has a size of 34 cm, weighs about 4 kg and is coated with a thin golden skin.

We were in Hollywood last spring and took the opportunity to mix with the crowd on February 28th and watch the Star show off the red carpet. In order to have a look at stars or starlets, some have even stayed there and then waited many hours in the sweltering heat. We were lucky and had a pretty good place but as early left. Quite disappointed in this event, which closed the Walk of Fame well before the movie theater, we left the place again.

It was interesting to see how the scenery for this event has changed. Unfortunately, it's not as glamorous as you think. In Hollywood there are much more interesting things to watch like the Oscars.

Where does the Oscar ceremony take place in Hollywood?

  • Very beautiful photos. I have never been to Los Angeles before. But it is, as likely with almost everyone, on my wish list. 🙂

Although the Academy Awards on TV always look super glamorous, I almost thought that in reality it is not that spectacular. This is often the case with such things.

    best regards

  • Dear Sigrid,

Now I am directly disappointed ... that looks so awesome and gigantic on TV ... but in reality it is not that great anymore ... because you can see what you can do on TV. Thank you for your insight for us :-)!

    dearest greetings

  • Okay, so I can save myself the way to Hollywood 😉 - unless I get a lead role in the next blockbuster. Until then I'll try it first with the BlogBuster or something ...
    best regards

  • and I almost got it, that is again Oscar time 🙂
As a teenager, I wanted to act as a performer myself and have always accepted the awards on video (yes, back then!)!

    Best regards too,
    ❤ Tina from http://www.liebewasist.com

  • Interesting contribution, I'm rather less on the hunt for stars, so the Oscars were never on my To Do list, what gem. Your execution is not so bad. LG, Cindy

  • Just great photos and it must be really impressive to see it all LIVE.
Unfortunately I did not have the chance to fly to LA until now. But maybe it will be something 🙂

    dearest greetings

  • I must also say that it always looks super glamorous on TV and when I stood in front of the theater for the first time ... pure disappointment. But that's the way it is often 😀 times walking the Walk of Fame is quite cool but I have promised myself more of the area 🙂

    best regards

  • I have now but really different presented ... I'm just a little surprised, great that you all of us enlighten that it is not so perfect, how it works.

  • Dear Sigrid

    Again a great report!

Yes, I thought that a few years ago, when we were there, on TV, everything looks much nicer and bigger! ; oD

    Have a nice day!

  • Unfortunately, I have never been there. Great pictures that make you want to travel there.

    All the best

  • Thanks for the little trip.
Unfortunately it's not all gold that shines and on TV it looks really different.
Since I'm really surprised, but on the other hand, you can put everything in the right light by trimming and putting in scene.
    LG Sabana

  • Very interesting contribution, I would like to go to the city but not necessarily to the Oscars 🙂

    best regards

  • sprinzeminze

I also really want to go there, even though it's not as big and glamorous as I've heard, as it often happens on TV. Nevertheless, every year I sit tensed in front of the TV and keep my fingers crossed for my favorite actors. The moment when Leo finally got the Oscar - just WOW ... yes you see, I'm very fond of the Oscars 😉 all love Iris <3

  • just a dream to be there for the Academy Awards ... I watched her as a kid always on TV - so not really live, because I was too young to stay up so long 😉
but we recorded them on video and then I watched them ... most of all I was always interested in how the stars and starlets were dressed 🙂

have a nice weekend and love greetings too,

Yeah, how cool to see such insights. To be honest, I thought that's all bigger. But without the presentation during the award itself, it seems very quiet there 🙂
Great that you can visit this famous location, because you want to be there smoothly at the next ceremony.

    Greetings Anni from http://hydrogenperoxid.net

  • Wow, great, you're coming around !! Really a dream

  • I always wanted to take a look at Los Angeles, even though it does not have as much glamor as it used to, but just being there where the stars are is definitely great

    • We love this city, my son would not live there, who knows if I would have ever seen her. I have a lot of fear of flying and for no reason I would not get on a plane.

  • Interesting post! On TV, it always looks so glamorous and spectacular. Thank you for this exciting insight. Even if I'm a little disappointed now 😀 I would never stay there extra, just to catch a glimpse of a star.

    Best regards,

  • Omg ... lucky you !! Every year USA ?? A dream!! I did not pursue the Oscars! I always just look at who was dressed ...

    • Yes, it's time again in May and I'm going to Los Angeles with my family. I'm looking forward to my little grandson and can not wait.

  • Hi,

even if it is not so spectacular - I would like to be very close to the stars!

I wish you a nice evening and do not freeze tomorrow 😉

    Best regards,

    • Thank you, dear Verena, I would rather not be outside the door today. It's really cold, just not my weather.
      best regards

  • Hihi ... I also had your thoughts when I was in Cannes. Everything was so tiny and you turned three times and saw everything. I was in Hollywood a couple of years ago and for me it was more exciting than Cannes.

    • The security measures are now so bad that you only see meters high fences. Of course that is understandable but also very disappointing.
      best regards

  • Looks like you've had a good time, never moved to Hollywood. But maybe it's still 😉

  • It's really different on TV, much more glamorous. But still, it must be great to have been there. Not everyone has this chance.
    best regards

  • Hello Sigrid
Hollywood is really a place where dreams could come true. Nice that you shared your insights with us. This big event is something special?

    Love Linni

    • Honestly, we were a bit disappointed, because we had imagined it very differently.
      best regards

  • Great contribution! But somehow this looks really different with the Oscars on TV. And brooding heat in February is difficult to imagine here.

  • Interesting post!
Had thought now, that everything is much more glamorous there. What you see on TV! 🙂
A pity, of course, that you were disappointed, but afterwards you are always smarter and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!

    best regards
