Americans gather on this date each year to celebrate the day of the birth of their nation.

ist einer der wichtigsten, amerikanischen Nationalfeiertage und erinnert an die Unterzeichnung der Unabhängigkeitserklärung am 4. Juli 1776 in Philadelphia. Independence Day is one of America's most important national holidays and commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 in Philadelphia. At that time, the then 13 colonies broke their bond with Great Britain and became independent. That was the time of the birth of the United States of America.

This declaration of independence was at the same time the constitution of the new state. In it, the basic and human rights were written down and made the most important laws of the state. From then on, it was the task of the state to safeguard and protect the freedom and equality of its citizens.

This constitution, which was put on paper at that time, has remained valid with some changes to this day.

werden die Häuser mit Schleifen und Fähnchen geschmückt und in den Gärten steht die amerikanische Flagge. On Independence Day , the houses are decorated with bows and flags and in the gardens is the American flag. As there is no school on this day, it is a fitting opportunity for a meeting with family and friends. Some organize garden parties or barbecues, others enjoy this day off with their loved ones on the beach. Also picnics in one of the many park are very popular. In addition, everyone brings something, usually suitable for the theme of the day.

There are decorated desserts in the national colors such as pies, Sternenbanner cupcakes, red pancakes with coconut syrup and blueberries and many more.

Traditionally, many parades take place on this day, such as the National Independence Day Parade in Washington. Hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world meet there every year. In Philadelphia, actors play historical scenes and the Declaration of Independence is read aloud, accompanied by the national anthem or Yankee Doodle.

For Independence Day in the US, well-known artists perform in open-air concerts in many cities, and in the evening there are spectacular fireworks shows across the country. This is a very special event for many Americans because the firing of fireworks, even on New Year's Eve, is banned in many states.

  • Many thanks for the info, was very informative.
I always feel that it is one of the highest holidays for the Americans.
In films, for example, and in our everyday life here you get quite a lot of it.

    • That's right, it's the largest national holiday in the US and is celebrated very big.
      best regards
