HOW DO I MAKE ORIGINAL AMERICAN SPARE RIBS IN THE OVEN?

border=0

Appetite for Grillrippchen and outside it is too uncomfortable or it is raining and the grill is not ready?

No problem, for these spicy, sweet ribs you do not necessarily need to throw the grill. They taste just as delicious with this recipe for SPARE RIBS IN THE OVEN. It's easy, you do not have to stand long in front of the grill and can deal with something else. It smells the delicious smell of ribs, which pull through the kitchen.

Ingredients for SPARE RIBS IN THE OVEN for 6 people!

  • 2 kg flat pork ribs
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons sweet pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder,
  • 1 tablespoon salt and half a tsp pepper
  • aluminum foil
Put all the spices in a small bowl, mix and rub the ribs with this mixture, making sure they are covered with spice everywhere. Then wrap in prepared pieces of aluminum foil, making sure that no meat juice can escape during frying. Now the well-wrapped ribs are placed on a baking sheet and pushed into the middle rail of preheated to 150 degrees Celsius oven. There they have to cook slowly for a good 3 hours until they almost fall off the bone.

When the ribs are ready, cut the foil pouches at one corner and carefully pour all the cooking liquid into a container, such as a bowl. You need this liquid for the sauce if you want to make it yourself. But I make it easy and use an original BBQ sauce from the US, which tastes very delicious. Of course, we always bring home different sauces from our stays in the US or let us send them.

Of course, there is also an abundant selection of good BBQ sauces here.

The ribs are removed from the oven and the foil is removed. You are now generously covered with a layer of sauce and pushed back into the tube for about 10 minutes for grilling.

Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, cut and serve with extra sauce.

I would be very happy about a comment about how you enjoyed my SPARE ribs in the OVEN and wish you a good appetite!

  • Hello Sigrid,
I have to try that very urgently. They look delicious. May I ask what you eat as a side dish? Potatoes? Thanks for the recipe 🙂

  • I'm not necessarily a vegetarian for such spare ribs 😉
but I think such marinades are still really great and so have already inserted tofu and vegetables and then grilled!

    Best regards too,

    • I think that's a great idea, dear Tina. My daughter-in-law is a vegetarian and I'm always thinking about what I'm cooking for her.

  • Dear Sigrid,

that's a great tip! This will surprise my husband in the summer in the evening, especially if I do not even have to throw on the grill. He loves ribs ... just not me ;-). Thank you!

    Have a nice evening!

  • What do you think?
Does it taste good without sugar?
That would be THE favorite recipe of my friend. Unfortunately, he suffers from a fructose intolerant.

    Dearest greetings,
    Alina

    • Hello Alina, I can not answer that unfortunately, I would have to try first. But I think the sugar makes the taste.

  • Oh, spare ribs are something wonderful! I think I'd rather throw them on the grill, but that's definitely a great tip, when no one is there or it rains outside! 😀

    Best regards,
    Laure

    • I also like to grill them, but barbecuing in the winter is not my thing. No problem, I just make them in the oven.
      best regards
      Sigrid
