When we visit our family in Los Angeles, we are mostly traveling together. A legend about the name Calabasas says that in 1824 a rancher from Oxnard spilled a truckload of pumpkins on the way to Los Angeles . Some time later, hundreds of pumpkin seedlings drifted out of the earth beside the road. Therefore, the area was called Las Calabasas (spanish pumpkins).
