Unfortunately, fires belong to the sunny state of California such as burger, sun, sandy beach and the deep blue sea. They are feared and always present, because usually already a small spark is enough to trigger a giant fire.

During our stay in September we saw the devastating traces of the Woolsey Fire and were shocked.

This morning, my son from Los Angeles called me and told me that clouds of smoke are darkening the sky of California and flames are spreading. This time near the Getty Center a famous tourist destination that's why it was also called Getty Fire.

He had been tracking the news for some time, heading to the Freeway 405 in the Beverly Hills area, one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Everywhere fire trucks lined the streets and excited people carry their most valuable belongings to their cars.

He said that hundreds of firefighters are working to fight the Getty Fire. The fire has already destroyed several houses and caused thousands of evacuations.

The fire, driven by strong winds, set off near the Getty Center along the 405 Freeway at 2 am. At 5 o'clock in the morning, there were already 3,300 homes in the area under evacuation.

The fire department, which tries to get control over the fire, has advised caution to all residents west of the 405 freeway and north of Sunset Boulevard. They should be vigilant and prepare for a possible evacuation.

The evacuation zone extends from Mulholland Drive in the north, 405 in the east, Sunset Boulevard in the south to Temescal Canyon Road in the west.

It is believed that weather conditions will deteriorate during the day.

My son told me that there is a lot of wind at the moment. This is moving according to US news with 10 miles and gusts of up to 17 miles per hour.

könnte er aber noch auf bis zu 40 Meilen pro Stunde ansteigen. According to the experts , however, it could still rise to up to 40 miles per hour. Yes, gusts could even be reached at a speed of up to 46 miles.

Meanwhile, dozens of houses have been destroyed and 80000 threatened by fire and the state of emergency has been declared.

Outdated and dilapidated power cables are said to be responsible for the devastating fire last year. For this reason, in order to avoid further fires in 1 million households the electricity was switched off.
