My TOP 10 Attractions in Los Angeles!

border=0

As interesting as the city of Los Angeles are also some destinations in the vicinity of this metropolis. Here I introduce you to my top 10 attractions in Los Angeles, which are easily accessible by car.

Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills!

This little place is tucked away in the mountains and we would never have found it without our daughter-in-law, since we knew nothing about its existence. It's not the usual LA attraction and yet it's part of Hollywood's history and a great place to take photos. The Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills is a real step back in time in the old Wild West movies.

If you walk along the gravel roads, you can not believe that you are very close to LA. The Paramount Ranch in Agora Hills was the scene of films of the 30s and 40s. Beau Henare and Wells Fargo, as well as the series Quinn the Medicin Woman were filmed here. It's a lot of fun to walk through the set of old Hollywood movies.

Being so close to Hollywood, Newport Beach has become the home of many celebrities and has also produced some well-known series. The best known for us in Germany is I think OCCalifornia !

There is also a harbor, where you can go whale watching every day of the year.

The ships are comfortably equipped for whale watching. There are indoor or outdoor seating options and toilets, a snack bar and a viewing platform are also available.

Such a whale watching is an unforgettable adventure for all ages and with $ 26 for about 2 1/2 not too expensive.

The Santa Monica Pier is the well known center of Santa Monica Beach and a well-known tourist destination, with plenty of opportunities to pass the time.
We like to come here to stroll through the shops or have a bite to eat in the restaurants, for example my beloved Funnel Cake.
Our grandson loves to marvel at the underwater life in the aquarium, or to go for a spin on the Ferris wheel. From up there, you have a great view of the dazzling, seemingly endless Pacific and the city. Even in the small roller coaster he likes to drive and can not get enough of it.

A short drive on the Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles is Malibu, known to many for its great beaches such as Zuma Beach.

Again and again we like to go over the Malibu Pier, there are of course shops and restaurants but you can also walk from there to the beach to Malibu Lagoon. The waves in the lagoon are very popular with surfers and you can watch them surfing from there.

The RMS Queen Mary, built in Scotland in the early 1930s, was bigger and faster then its predecessor, the Titanic. She was the most luxurious way to travel in those years, with over 300m of length, 12 decks and elaborate Art Deco interior design. Statesmen such as Winston Churchill and Robert Kennedy enjoyed the ride in the unique environment on this ship.

For three decades she brought the rich and famous in great luxury across the Atlantic. Now the Queen Mary is resting in the harbor of Long Beach and is a well-known tourist attraction.

One of my top 10 attractions in Los Angeles is the Aquarium of the Pacific?

The Long Beach Aquarium is one of the best in the world and the only one in the world focused primarily on the Pacific Ocean. It is located in the center of Long Beach and is one of the largest in the United States. About 1.5 million visitors annually visit the facility, which is located on a 20-acre site.

One of the top 10 attractions in Los Angeles, the Matador State Beach!

It is located directly on the Pacific Coast Highway, about 10 miles west of Malibu. Natural El Matador Beach attracts many beach vacationers. The beach, a mix of water, birdlife and flora, offers high cliffs with large rocks for rock climbing and caves for exploring. El Matador Beach is a very well known and great place for the perfect photo and therefore very popular with photographers, advertising and film crews. It is suitable with its worth seeing scenery for photo Sessions of all kind. Whether in the bathing suit, in the evening dress or photos before breathtaking sunsets, there are always dreamlike pictures. For this reason, he is also often used by professional models.

El Matador is an excellent photographable place and you should not forget your camera.

Mandalay State Beach, dream beach in Oxnard!

A hidden secret on the Gold Coast and for us the most beautiful beach in California so far. A wide, endless, almost deserted beach as far as the eye can see. Some dog owners went for a walk and some jogging on the edge of the Pacific. The brave ones even enjoyed themselves in the water, even though it was quite windy and a bit chilly. We preferred to walk on the beach and were fortunate enough to see dolphins playing very close to the surf.

Mandalay State Beach is a sheltered beach in the Californian town of Oxnard. Part of the 92-hectare site is a nature reserve, also to protect nesting sites of various bird species.

Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark!

Underwood Family Farms is one of the best known agricultural production areas in California. They are located in beautiful Ventura County where temperatures seldom fall below 8 ° C even in winter. This makes a year-round cultivation of many fruits and vegetables possible. For example, peaches, nuts, oranges, tomatoes and much more are grown and shipped throughout the US and other countries.

Sitting on a big wooden car pulled by a tractor, we made a tour of the farm to learn about farming in California . It went past lemon plantations, vegetable fields and old eucalyptus trees. You could watch the farmers at work and even pick their own fruit on the huge strawberry fields.

Hike to the Paradise Falls at Wildwood Park!

The Wildwood Park is not far from the home of our family and we like to walk there with the dogs. Wildwood Park is a wildlife sanctuary in Thousand Oaks, California, known for its diverse landscape and offers many recreational opportunities. You can go hiking, mountain biking, jogging, horseback riding and picnicking there.

There are several hiking trails for every age group and it is also suitable for families with small children and dogs.

These top 10 attractions in Los Angeles are really worth a visit!
