When we booked our first trip to Los Angeles, we immediately thought of burgers, fries, donuts, hot dogs and heavy-weight people like so many on the subject of food. America is known for a wide selection of fast food chains with pizzas, tacos, Chinese fast food, sandwiches and much more. However, many residents are not as likely to find these fast food chains as you might expect, even if the food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Restaurant visits very popular with Americans!

Many prefer to go to good, cozy restaurants rather than cheap burger chains. There is a large selection of restaurants in Los Angeles and the area we like to visit during our stays. There is everything from breakfast, lunch or dinner to ice cream, desserts and cakes everything your heart desires.

Here are some of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles!

The restaurants are all 50's style with lots of chrome, red leather chairs and a big jukebox in the corner. On many tables is a small jukebox on which you can pick a little change, his favorite song. The staff serves the guests at the table and the food is cooked to order using fresh ingredients. Of course you are specialized in burgers, which are really excellent. These can be, if you have extra wishes also put together.

Of course, Johnny Rockets also has other foods, soft drinks and really great milk shakes such as the Strawberry Oreo Shake.

Carneys Restaurant on Sunset Boulevard!

It's in a yellow Union Pacific railroad car on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. This was transported in the year 1975 with much effort to this point and converted there into a gladly visited restaurant.

Carneys offers a large selection of burgers, hot dogs, wraps, salads, French fries, but sandwiches of ice cream and drinks. The restaurant is known for its chili burgers and chili hot dogs, and there are even sweet potato chips. We were told that even Elvis Presley got his hot dogs and burgers there.

The Cheesecake Factory is a chain of restaurants in the US and is also found in Los Angeles multiple times!

Although it sounds like a bakery and looks like it at first glance, the Cheesecake Factory has much more to offer than delicious cakes.

If you want to have lunch or dinner, you get this in a large selection. The menu is huge and leaves nothing to be desired. Whether meat, fish, pasta, Asian dishes or classics, there is almost everything here. If someone is really hungry, then the Cheesecake Factory is just the ticket.

The Outback is an Australian-inspired restaurant chain with about 1,000 stores in over 20 countries.

There is a wide selection of freshly made, very tender and artfully spiced Australian style steaks. No matter if Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, Ribeye (there are seven types of steaks to choose from), they are all perfectly fried and so juicy they are on the Melt the tongue.

We had a yummy ribeye steak, well marbled, juicy and yummy and as a side dish a big baked potato with a sour cream sauce, butter, chives and bacon.

Buca di Beppo is a charming American-Italian restaurant at Universal Studios Hollywood, at the end of City Walk. It is very large and has several different dining rooms, each of which is decorated according to a special theme.

In the Buca di Beppo there are pasta in all variations, for example, chicken cannelloni, lasagna, ravioli al Pomodoro to spaghetti. Of course, there are also pizza in many flavors with a crispy, thin bottom and a fruity tomato sauce and Italian spices topped. The choices range from Arrabbiata, Veggie, Formaggio, Margherita to hot peppers. Salads and appetizers are not missing on the menu, of course, and then you can treat yourself to a delicious dessert.

The Junkyard offers an extensive and interesting menu and a great junkyard atmosphere.

It's like a museum for old and interesting things. Curios and antiques hang from the ceilings and walls. You can spend hours looking at old car parts, machines, Barbies and more.

The food is excellent, the portions are huge and the staff is super nice and hospitable.

After an event at the Convention Center in Los Angeles we wanted to have a snack. We made our way through the turmoil to the Hooters, which is just across the street.

The place is great if you want to eat something fast and cheap before an event in the Stables Center or in the Convention Center. The wings are the tastiest in Los Angeles and the fish tacos also taste great.

BJ's Restaurant Brewhouse never disappoints us, whether we visit Oxnard or Los Angeles. We go regularly with our family there and are always thrilled.

The menu is very extensive, there is steak, fish, pizza or pasta dishes. There is everything your heart desires and everything is freshly prepared. Even home-brewed beer you get there and it really tastes very good.

The excellent service and the fantastic food make it a restaurant that we will visit again and again.

Every time we come to Beverly Hills, we turn to Sharkys. The food tastes great, the ingredients are fresh, the price is cheap and the staff very friendly. The nachos taste really good there and the chicken salad or the shrimp burrito taste very delicious.

We like to sit outside and enjoy watching people while eating.

The Ivy is a beautiful restaurant with a small patio surrounded by a fence right on the road. The ambience is beautiful, the restaurant and the tables are gorgeous and lush decorated with roses.

There you can wonderfully end the day and watch the other guests. Sometimes you can also see celebs that you do not meet on Rodeo Drive anymore, but around the corner at Robertson Blvd.

A place you have to book long in advance, as the Ivy is very popular.

Dennis is a well-known restaurant chain in the United States that operates over 1,600 restaurants in all states of the United States. Unlike other chains, restaurants are open around the clock, even on most public holidays. You get all food and drinks throughout and can feast at late hours with friends.

The decision is not easy with the large selection, but the very friendly and courteous service has advised us very well.

These were some of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles and I can not wait to be there again.

I would really like to have a big burger right now!

  • Dear Sigrid,

So I've always found in the US stays - there are so many restaurants and especially in every price range. While you can no longer eat cheap in Vienna meanwhile, you will find in the US for little money already delicious food. I like the Hooters eg very much.

... now I'm eating something ... you made me hungry ;-).
